Eclogue is a small personal notebook. An eclogue is a short pastoral poem, the kind Virgil wrote about shepherds talking in the shade; the Chinese name, 牧歌, means much the same thing, a herder’s song.
The notebook has four parts, each named after an old kind of poem. Idyll is for ordinary days. Georgics is for work, and what doing it carefully has taught me. Hodoeporicon is the longer road: where I have lived and how I got here. Epigrams are fragments, a line or two, kept before they slip away.
There are no comments here and no algorithm. If something reminds you of something, write to me.
Small things from ordinary days: meals, weather, walks, and the books beside the bed.
Notes on work and craft. What I tried, what held up, and what I would tell myself a year ago.
The longer road: places I have lived, turns I have taken, and the people met along the way.
Fragments. A line, a thought, something overheard, kept before it slips away.
